Networking Tip #114

Business people need to maintain focus and review the disciplines necessary for continued success. This "spaced repetition" keeps you on track, alerts you to disciplines you overlook from time to time and helps the whole marketing phase of your business.

Let’s review some of these disciplines. Note the ones that need emphasis and any you have overlooked:
  • Ask quality questions. Don’t ask a prospect to tell you something about their business when their business is fully outlined on their website. Do your research before visiting a client. Ask about items on their website or what is the toughest part of their business. Ask about what part of their business "pains" them most. Ask questions and let the prospect talk.   • Be persistent. Discipline yourself to make phone calls and set up appointments.
  • Write a list of near and long term goals. Review and revise goals periodically. Research shows that the most successful people are avid goal setters.

  • Be passionate. Passionate about your business and how you help clients.

  • Keep in contact with your clients. Don’t forget they are the best resource for repeat business and referrals.
  • Incorporate Value. Value in your products and services.
